For Cynthia and Stuart Smith, their 1916 Mediterranean-style home in Baltimore’s upscale neighborhood of Guilford is more than a contemplation of their design elan. It represents the development of their family relationship—from the early days when ataraxis was key to now, when a bit of arbitrariness is in order.
